Freedom of Speech

“You are too sensitive” “you get offended easily” “suck it up” “don’t be a cry baby, grow up”
These are few things I have heard from people. Time and time again.

Why? Because I didn’t like the bigotry , hate, stereotyping, misogyny, sexist, homophobic comment or habit by people I know or from people that are complete strangers.

noun – the power or right to express one’s opinions without censorship, restraint, or legal penalty.

But hey! I can’t use it to defend myself or defend something I believe in. If I do so then ‘ I am using my victim card.’ Horror Gasp 😏

And don’t get me started on my right to tell you to “Shut up” every time you call me “Darlin” “Sweetheart” “Babe” or ask me to “Smile more” even though we aren’t even close or know each other. 👎 Evasion of privacy…is that you call free speech?

But you do not stop there. Do you? You proceed to tell us that we are being “too sensitive” and to “shut up”,

Okay then. If you are using your free speech and some one doesn’t like it they can use their free speech to tell you that ‘its offensive’ and tell you to “Shut up” too. Can’t they?

But you can’t help yourself but remark “Is it that time of the month?” or to a guy “Don’t act like a Sissy”

Your freedom to attack someone also means their freedom to defend themselves. If you don’t want any repercussions then maybe don’t evade someone’s personal space. But if not than its okay for others to evade and insult yours too.

So… NO, you do not respect free speech if it isn’t yours. 🙄 And if so then…well, you are a HYPOCRITE.

Anyone who says.. “Oh its just words” : needs to learn that words hurt deeper than any weapon. And all the War in the World started with Words.
